Beyond News The Union Home Ministry had written to the States seeking their opinion on the issue. It sent a reminder to all the States again this month. On December 5 last year, the Home Ministry notified the appointment of a 12-member inter-ministerial committee which would take a final call on the playing of the national anthem in cinema and public places. Beyond News Restoration of the gold-inlaid manuscripts in two volumes at the Mak Dhog Monastery started earlier this year. Manuscripts contain the ancient Tibetan text called Gyetongba, which contains teachings of Buddhism. The manuscripts are in the Tibetan script Sambhota, named after its inventor. While the Association could restore the damage suffered by the monastery in the 2011 Sikkim Earthquake, external help was required to restore the manuscripts, which are centuries older than the monastery…
