Beyond News The finds were discovered on a sand dune near Dajinshan village in Shuangliao city. Researchers speculate that the ruins might serve as evidence of a living and fishing place for ancient people near the Eastern Liaohe river based on large quantities of unearthed life utensils, animal bones, fishbones, mussels and shellfish. Findings The study, found that in years where summer rainstorms in India are stronger, Atlantic hurricanes move further westward towards land . In years where the rains are not as strong, hurricanes tend to curve northward earlier and fizzle out in the north Atlantic Ocean. The newly-discovered relationship could help scientists better predict the path of oncoming hurricanes, especially in late summer months like September, when Atlantic hurricane activity peaks, according to researchers. Findings Researchers assessed the impact of rising carbon dioxide levels on the large predatory “triton shell” gastropod. They found those living in regions with predicted future levels of CO2 were on average around a third smaller than counterparts living in conditions seen throughout the world’s oceans today.
