Greenland lost ice The findings show that Greenland has lost 3.8 trillion metric tons of ice between 1992 and 2018, enough to raise global sea levels by more than a centimeter. This amounts to a seven-fold increase in ice loss in less than three decades from 33 billion tons per year in the 1990s to 254 billion tons per year in the last decade.
